Cozumel is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever dove; as the crystal clear waters were filled with coral and fish.
When deciding where to go for vacation, one of the main reasons I chose Mexico was because I had wanted to dive in Cozumel for years. I was so excited to be able to cross diving in Cozumel off my bucket list on this trip, and it did not disappoint.
Whether you enjoy diving or snorkeling, Cozumel’s crystal clear blue water, gorgeous coral and lively marine life is worth the trip.
During my dives I saw tons of stunning dish, turtles and more. The water in Cozumel was some of the clearest, bluest water I have ever dove in.
“The color of the water in Cozumel is a shade of blue unlike any other area in Mexico.”

Getting to Cozumel was quite easy. We drove into downtown Playa del Carmen and took a ferry with the Ultramar
company. The trip lasted about an hour on the luxury boat, and it cost $18 USD roundtrip per person. We enjoyed views of Playa del Carmen from the water, as well as views of Cozumel during the sunrise.
Once getting to Cozumel, it was a ten minute walk to Deep Blue
dive shop. I found this shop by searching on Yelp and I chose it because it had great reviews. They were a very professional, organized dive shop and they took great care of us. We used all of their equipment and it was in good shape, and they also took the extra steps to set everything up for us before each dive.

My favorite part about diving in Cozumel was the second dive that we did, which was a drift dive. We submerged about 60 feet and then let the correct carry us through some beautiful scenery and through a few coral caves. We saw turtles, a manta ray, beautiful coral and tons of fish.
I have been diving all around the world, and Cozumel is still one of my favourite dives. I hope I get to go back one day.
