RENTING A CAR IN MAGNETIC ISLAND

Your inner child will thank you for this one.

One of my favourite things to do on Magnetic Island is renting a topless Barbie car and zipping around; hopping from beach to beach. You might be wondering what a topless Barbie car is. It’s a novelty car that is popular on the island; essentially it’s a custom, tiny, topless car that comes in several fun colors including pink, blue and green.

There are a few options for getting around Magnetic Island. You can use the circulator bus which is inexpensive and effective; you can rent a normal car, or you can let your inner child celebrate and rent a topless car! I decided to go with the ladder and both times I went to Maggie Island I spent my days zipping around the island in my little pink car.

While they are definitely a novelty, they are also extremely fun to drive.

Everyone seems to enjoy driving a tiny convertible around the island; even my Dad took this car for a spin. All of them are manual which is especially fun for zipping around the curvy hills on the island.

There are a few places on the island that rent similar cars, however both times I rented from Tropical Topless. http://www.tropicaltopless.com/ I have had nothing but great experiences with this company. For starters their prices are reasonable and they don’t require any prepayment to make a booking. Their cars are quality for what they are, and they staff is lovely.

There are so many places you can visit around the island and having a car definitely comes in handy.
